FILMS AND PROGRAMMES WE WANT TO MAKE IF WE CAN EVER FIND THE MONEY AND THE BACKER
Below will be a raft of ideas that we would really like to make films and programmes about. Almost all of them have detailed treatments which can be viewed on request.
"The Life and Times of Victor Herbert" - the Irishman who invented the American Musical, has a statue in Central Park, wrote "Babes In Toyland" and co-founded ASCAP.
"Santa Claus" - the real story, from a Turkish Saint to "The Night Before Christmas"
"The Man Who Wrote Mozart" - the life of Lorenzo Da Ponte, born in Venice, worked in Vienna and London. He spent most of his adult life in New York where he ran a grocers shop and a book shop - he single handedly brought Italian culture to the Big Apple.
"Town Stories" - a series of six films about towns around the world famous for one thing and one thing only, from Spam to Japanese swords to Opals.
"Built For Purpose" - a series on iconic buildings and their singular architects.
"Hat Watching" - understanding the Turks and their hats.
"Maurice Sendak" - the definitive biography of the famous illustrator.
"Musical Fairy Tales" - a series of six performance programmes based on traditional fairy tales set to words and music by Tom Smail and Emma House.
"The Hole In The Elephant's Bottom" - the story of English Music Hall.
